Product Overview:
UVA VIDA laminated grape sheets are designed to extend the shelf life of grapes by providing controlled atmospheric condi ons. These are an advancement in the grape pad technology where the chemical is sandwiched between the polymer matrix and
does not get on to the fruit by leakage or permea on from the pockets. The earlier technology grape pads had chemical pockets in paper and during exposure to moisture this chemical could migrate out of the pad onto the fruits. The first layer from the bo om is a non-woven sheet which helps to absorb excessive moisture and transfer to the second layer which contains sodium metabisulfite and polymer held together in a matrix such that the Sulfur Dioxide (SO₂) gas can be instantly released onto the grapes as the first release which is required to be high for an instant flush of SO2 gas.
The next layer of sodium metabisulfite is sandwiched between two layers of plas c film and allows for slow release.
These sheets u lize an innova ve dual release feature, ensuring a balanced and sustained release of ac ve compounds where the first layer releases a higher dosage when the fresh grapes are introduced and the second release layer provides a constant long-term release over the storage period. This effec vely reduces microbial growth and oxida ve damage, keeping grapes fresher for longer.
